Car insurance cheats nicked

Car Insurance News - Published: 05/12/2007
Drivers without car insurance in Bolton have been hauled in as part of a police initiative.

A three-month operation called Giant saw 16 vehicles seized for not having any legal cover or road tax.

The Bolton news, in its report, also says that motorists who have picked up convictions may now find it difficult to obtain car insurance at a reasonable cost.

Car insurance companies could see them as too much of a risk and a danger on the roads.

Sergeant Brian Orr, in a statement, said officers from the constabulary "could be absolutely anywhere in Bolton as part of this operation".

In related news the government has just launched its annual Christmas anti-drink-driving campaign.

This year it is entitled THINK! and will incorporate a hard-hitting TV advert first shown this summer.
