Oval increasing help
Industry Insurance News - Published: 23/11/2007
Insurance intermediary Oval Insurance Broking is increasing the help it provides to the small business sector.
It is expanding the service it gives by commencing an internet purchasing system by which small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can buy tailor-made comprehensive cover.
The new arrangement gives people the chance to buy general business policies and made-to-measure cover for retailers, contractors, property owners, offices and commercial vehicles.
SME divisional director at Oval, Anita Watson, told the New Business magazine: "The pressures on small businesses are immense and finding enough time to shop around for their insurance cover is often a challenge."
Oval is backed by investment firm Caledonia and general insurance giant Allianz underwrites its policies.
The broking sector is bracing itself for increased competition because of the European Commission's proposed relaxation of the regulations governing cross-border financial services.
