Humanitarian campaigner Sir Bob Geldof is set to be one of the guest speakers at the 2008 British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) conference and industry exhibition.

The ex-Boomtown Rats singer will be accompanied on stage at the show, to be held between April 30th and May 2nd in Glasgow, by BBC security correspondent Frank Gardiner OBE who will also make a keynote speech.

In a change of format to previous conferences, the show will start with three experts in their fields debating what global issues might affect the planet in the next ten years.

The panel will consist of Dr Noreena Hertz an advocate of ethical globalisation, Stephane Garelli, a leading authority on competitiveness and James Rubin, a professor of international relations.

Eric Galbraith, BIBA chief executive, said: "In order to allow as many members as possible to attend the conference and exhibition all employees of BIBA member firms will now be able to attend free of charge."

As well as the main keynote speeches there will also be all the normal relevant industry sessions and the largest insurance exhibition in the country.
