Accreditations for trainers
Industry Insurance News - Published: 13/11/2007
The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has rewarded two trainers from Chaucer Insurance with accreditations.
Nemesia Willis and Mathew Holden proved they had the necessary training skills and technical knowledge to become the first people to be given an accreditation under the CII's new scheme.
The trainer scheme was set up as a benchmark standard by the CII against which trainers in the insurance industry could be judged.
Qualifications, ability to explain complicated insurance lingo and evidence of ongoing professional progress is assessed.
Chaucer's Mike Smith believes the system was "essential" in order to make sure standards were consistently kept high.
Tamsin Mills, director of accreditation at the CII, said: "This external validation is essential.
"It recognises the training standards of an Accredited Trainer which will enhance their organisation's reputation as a provider of high quality training and development and assist in providing a competitive edge."
The CII is the foremost provider in the country of training for the insurance industry.
