Buckinghamshire car insurance customers warned
Car Insurance News - Published: 26/10/2007
Drivers in Buckinghamshire have been warned that they need to stick to the speed limit - or face getting nicked by local police.
A joint operation in Princes Risborough, involving local police officers and the Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership, has seen a number of drivers hauled in and then brought to justice.
"Overall the joint operation was successful and I believe we got the message across to drivers, that speeding and motoring offences will not be tolerated," PC Andrew Ralph, who was part of the operation, told the Bucks Herald.
"Offenders received fixed penalty notices of £60 and three points for speeding between 36 and 48 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. Drivers caught speeding between 35 and 39 miles per hour were given the choice to go on a speed awareness course.
"Those caught speeding between 31 and 34 miles per hour were given a verbal caution by a road safety officer from Buckinghamshire County Council. Two £30 tickets were also issued to drivers for not wearing their seatbelts."
