Increasing numbers of drivers 'looking to go green'
Car Insurance News - Published: 28/08/2007
Increasing numbers UK motorists are looking to purchase vehicles with green credentials, a new report claims.
The study from AA Personal Loans reveals that the number of people in the UK hoping to purchase green cars has gone up three times in the last year, rising from six per cent to 20 per cent.
And how much a vehicle costs to run is now perceived as being more important than how glamorous the model is, the report states.
"The rapid growth of the green agenda among car buyers over the last year is very significant," AA personal loans director Lloyd East said.
"With a fifth of all car buyers today going green, the environmental agenda is being driven into the heart of the motor industry - over family estates, saloon cars and people carriers," he added.
