Brits 'still love their gardens'

The British love affair with the garden is still going strong, the results of a new report suggest.
A survey from Halifax reveals that close to 80 per cent of us would be prepared to pay a premium for a property with a garden - with those aged between 35- and 45-years-old most likely to splash the cash in order to get their fingers green.
On average, Brits would be prepared to pay £10,000 extra to get a garden, the survey showed - although five per cent of us would be willing to fork out an extra £30,000 or above for a property with a garden.
"Our research shows that many of us will pay a premium for a property with a garden," Colin Kemp, managing director at Halifax Estate Agents, commented.
"Making the most of your homes outside space could add real value and maximise any sale price."
People in London were least likely to pay more to get a garden.
