Car parking advice offered

Drivers could avoid having to make claims on their car insurance policies by making sure they park in the right places, a leading industry expert has said.
Mike Owen, head of technical operations for the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF), claims that cars can still be at risk from theft and vandalism even if they come all the latest ant-theft and security devices attached.
"When we park our cars, we assume they will be there when we get back," he commented.
"Unfortunately, for some drivers, this is not always the case. If you own a garage, make the most of it. Park your vehicle in it and lock it, rather than leaving it on the street. If not, park in a well-lit, open place, not one hidden from view or with obvious escape routes."
Other snippets of advice given out by the RMIF include removing all goods from display and making sure that you always lock your car doors and boot.
And you should always retract your car ariel to stop it being vandalised, the RMIF asserts.
