Allianz has added three new individuals to its team of rehabilitation coordinators.

This specialist team ensures that catastrophic injury claimants are referred to the right rehabilitation services - and so far the service has received rave reviews from claims handlers, rehabilitation providers and injured parties alike.

Cathy Bloye and Georgie Cooper started out in the positions last year and, following a successful start-up, three new recruits - Carron Whelan, Bronwen Williams and Samantha Balnaves - have been added.

All the co-ordinators maintain close relationships with a wide range of UK rehabilitation specialists, ensuring a quick and appropriate referral in the unfortunate event of a catastrophic injury claim.

The team has extensive experience of working in the health service arena - with all its members having at some point worked in the industry. Two members are fully qualified physiotherapists, while the other three have extensive experience in the fields of brain injury rehabilitation, orthopaedics and occupational therapy.

"As well as ensuring claimants' needs are met, we work with rehabilitation providers to increase service standards and ensure that best practice is maintained," Georgie Cooper, one of the team's original members, commented.

"We also provide internal education on rehabilitation to the claims handlers to provide an insight into the process and what to expect in terms of time frames for recovery."
