Vodafone has announced the launch of a new remote access offering.

The new product will allow users to access corporate networks remotely - with security and transparency guaranteed. Previous systems have enabled remote access but security could not be fully vouched for.

The offering is entitled Vodafone Secure Remote Access and it includes a technology platform as well as consulting services to help with implementation and management. Vodafone says that it expects to realise multi-million pound revenues from the product within the next three to five years.

As well as teaming up with mobile working company Fiberlink to create the platform, Vodafone also recruited staff from IT services giants Accenture, IBM and Capgemini to develop the product.

"Our customers are looking for a level of services over and above what we've been offering," Vodafone UK head of enterprise mobility solutions, David Hughes, said while speaking at the launch in London.

"Services is a wonderful differentiator if you can crack it," he added.
